Junaid Khan, son of actor Aamir Khan, is gearing up for his theatrical debut with the upcoming film Loveyapa co-starring Khushi Kapoor. Helmed by Advait Chandan, the film will be hitting the theatres on February 7. Known for his simplicity and down-to-earth nature, despite being a star kid, Junaid, recently during an interview, recalled a fun anecdote. He talked about how he hid his real identity from an auto driver following an unexpected encounter with his father, who was driving a luxurious car, at a traffic signal.

Speaking to Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa, the Maharaj actor opened up about choosing an auto rickshaw to commute despite having access to luxury rides. He said, “In a city like Mumbai, an auto is the ideal mode of transportation. If I drive, I will be trapped in traffic and have to locate parking. It’s simply a practical choice. People don’t know me very well. Only once did an automobile driver recognise me.”

Sharing a fun anecdote, Junaid said, “Once I was travelling from Andheri to Bandra and my father was also on his way back home. At one of the traffic signals, his car came and stopped beside my auto. I was on my phone when he pulled down his window to greet me, and I greeted him back. We started moving as soon as the signal turned green. The auto driver was surprised and questioned, ‘Do you know him?’ I responded, ‘Yes, we actually live in the same area. His mother and my grandmother are both from Banaras.”

Talking about Loveyapa, the film also features an ensemble cast including Grusha Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana, Tanvika Parlikar, Kiku Sharda and Kunj Anand. It is an official Hindi remake of the Tamil film Love Today and promises a delightful blend of love, drama and confusion.

Loveyapa will face a Bollywood clash with Himesh Reshammiya’s Badass Ravikumar. Meanwhile, Junaid has still not announced his next project, while Khushi will be next seen in Dharma Productions’ next Nadaaniyan along with Ibrahim Ali Khan.
