Liam Payne’s funeral took place recently, with his friends and family along with artists from the industry gathered to honour the former One Direction star. The singer passed away after falling from his hotel balcony in Argentina a month ago. For his funeral, a horse carriage carried his coffin to the church, with red and blue floral decoration with the text, ‘son’ and ‘daddy’ placed on top. Fans noticed some cars at the funeral had Batman stickers, as Liam loved the particular superhero. Another surprising detail was a floral decoration shaped like a bowling pin. This was a tribute to Liam’s passion for bowling, a game he enjoyed playing multiple days a week.
According to Hello Magazine, just before Liam’s passing, his girlfriend Katie Cassidy shared a TikTok video where she jokingly talked about his love for bowling. In the video, Cassidy revealed that Liam used to often take her to bowling. Interestingly, he sometimes played the game four times a week. Reportedly, he even celebrated his last birthday with a bowling session with his family.

At Liam Payne’s funeral, his One Direction bandmates, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan got emotional. Speaking with The Sun, an insider revealed, “No one knows what it was like to be in One Direction like these five men. They may not have been in contact all the time but the bond they share is unbreakable. Liam was the ‘dad’ of the band, always speaking up when the others needed him to. Harry, Louis, Zayn and Niall are all now having to navigate a path none of them ever thought they would go down. They were all there yesterday to support Liam’s family and one another.”
Those present at the funeral were asked to donate some amount to help build a new Children’s Cancer Centre at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital. The source added, “His family knew that Liam cared greatly for others and, as painful as his death was, they know Liam would have taken a huge amount of pride in knowing that he was still able to help others. Large sums of money were donated to this in Liam’s name yesterday and it will help so many children.”
According to the source, the funeral service was beautiful, but for those present, it was hard. A choir was performed during the ceremony and every detail was according to Liam’s personality.
