Yash kicks off Ramayana at Aksa Beach in Mumbai; No Ranbir Kapoor in this schedule –
Yash begins Ramayana shoot:
Ramayana is currently being filmed across India. After Ranbir Kapoor wraps his portion for Part One of the series, South star Yash has now joined the sets. The KGF actor has started the shoot for this pan-India biggie in Mumbai on Friday. A report by MidDay confirms that he shot for his part at Aksa Beach in Mumbai and will now head to Dahisar.
This schedule focuses on Ravana’s scenes, which is why Ranbir Kapoor, who plays the role of Lord Rama in this historical epic, won’t be part of it. Yash will be shooting his solo action sequences with other actors.

“The war portions are being mounted on a grand scale, with the action choreography designed to reflect Ravana’s strategic prowess. It will be a combination of green screen shots and those filmed on the ground, involving heavy VFX work. This set-piece doesn’t require Ranbir’s presence as it’s not the Ram-Ravana face-off. Other key actors have joined Yash for this leg,” a source told the portal.
The first part of Ramayana will be released on Diwali 2026 and will explore almost half the story of the grand epic. The next part will showcase the battle between Ram and Raavana and will be released on Diwali 2027. The two-part franchise features an ensemble cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi as Maa Sita, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, Yash as Ravana, and others in pivotal roles. Dangal fame Nitesh Tiwari is directing this ambitious project.
