Karan Johar is reportedly planning an intriguing crossover for his upcoming romantic drama, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, starring Kartik Aaryan and Sharvari.
According to a report, Johar is considering bringing characters from his 2013 blockbuster Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD) into the storyline.
If everything falls into place, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Kalki Koechlin could make special appearances and reprise their beloved roles from the film.
Karan Johar’s decision appears to be a strategic effort to leverage the lasting appeal of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD). The iconic film, which recently earned Rs 10 crore during its re-release, continues to be a favorite among millennials and Gen Z audiences. A source quoted in the report revealed, “Since this new project is a rom-com in the vein of YJHD, incorporating the original stars for cameos feels like a natural progression. Even if securing all of them isn’t possible, the plan is to include at least two. These cameos will serve as a heartfelt tribute to the much-loved classic.“
The creators are focused on ensuring that the cameos blend effortlessly into the storyline. “The team is prioritizing the actors’ availability and crafting a seamless integration into the plot during the writing process,” shared the source. Directed by Sameer Vidwans, the film promises to be a lively rom-com that captures the spirit of YJHD while presenting a fresh narrative and new characters.
